For the third or fourth time in this Transfer Window I shall make the following point. Why are we prepared to pay so much Money on a Player from a poor League who could not get into Brazil's World Cup squad?

If this guy really is the new hybrid of Bobby Moore and Paolo Maldini, then why not go for it? It could be a real masterstroke.

Probably because when deciding our transfer targets and scouting, the people at City trust their own judgment on a players ability rather than what a national manager thinks or what people think of the general quality of league they're playing in.
