David Luiz

This lad will come good in a year or two if handled correctly. At the moment he still isn't adapted to the league and lacks the decision making (and consistent positional) capabilities of the top defenders.

Terry (and to some extent Cole too) isn't going to get any better and is now a bit of a liability if you ask me.

And that, I get the impression, goes for both on and off the pitch.

God knows why a young manager, with his pick of top clubs over the next few years, chose to go to a place where there were a fair few 'personalities' (being very, very kind - I can think of some more choice descriptions of the likes of Terry, Drogba, Cole). And on top of that, these personalities - with alleged form for thinking that they are the top dogs and not managers - previously knew him as 'the dossier man'.

That's a recipe for disaster. I hope he sticks it out, gets rid of them and continues to build on his potential. But he made the most risky of choices going there, when he didn't need to.

theres a brilliant thread on here from when chelsea signed him. entitled '' david luiz, we've missed a trick here'' or something equally as comical

That's probably the one that I was alluding to in my initial post.

he's a good defender prone to lapses, just like jones. one is seen as rubbish and the other is seen as great, when in truth they are exactly the same
...one is 5 years older than the other.
So, he’s still 24 and very young. People think 24 is the finish article nowadays. Players need time to adapt. Look at Koscielny for arsenal, all over the place first season, their best defender second season
I was alluding more to the Jones comparison, and the statement that they were "exactly the same".
