David Luiz...........

Been told it all kicked off after Luiz got back to the dressing room following nonchalant defending that cost Chelsea.

4 players copped hold of him in the dressing room and it boiled up to the point staff had to intervene. Jose drops him tonight........What's next? Be shocked if he's there in Feb.

Someone should have elbowed the twat in the throat, just as he deems its acceptable during a match.Hate the fucker.Overated piece of shit and so glad he aint at our Club.

Hated him when he tried to elbow Aguero in the semi final then came over all inocent when Aguero fought back
I remember that lol. Aguero kicked the skin off his backside.

Wonderful footballer but makes too many mistakes when playing at the back. Ive always thought he looked better in a midfield two, suprised Mourinho picks Mikel over him tbh.

Not saying that David Luiz is not a good player, he's amazing on the ball but being an excellent ball-player apart, he does have some glaring flaws as a defender. Firstly, if anyone who has seen him play can attest to his lack of positional awareness and lack of defensive discipline coupled with his defensive frailties, he makes for a liability at the back. I struggle to see how he even made it as a defender in the first place and it is as if a striker stuck in a defender's body. Secondly, Luiz has technique and talent on the ball that few defenders have and that is all good if your side dominate possession for 90% of the time. Even so, Luiz does frustrate when he tries too hard to punt killer long balls over the top and attempting one too many during the match. I can see how Luiz fits in for a possession-based side by being an option to play out from the back but do we really want that in exchange for all those defensive liabilities?

Not gonna see the best of him until he gets his move to Barcelona. If that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if he quickly becomes one of the best centre-backs in the world. Some players just really aren't suited to certain leagues.

He will be perfect for them but he will never be a world class CB. A world class footballer yes but never a CB. They should go for Hummels, he'd be awesome for them and would go well as a replacement to Puyol. Luiz doesn't help their vulnerabilities at all.

If he played for a team that defended aggressively, high up the pitch, then he'd be absolutely fantastic. But he really just doesn't work at all with Chelsea ultra negative style, with John Terry refusing to leave the edge of his own box. People do seem to forget that he won the CL, Europa League and Confederations Cup finals, all playing CB, so he's clearly not the joke that the media try and portray him as.

I agree with you, whenever its Terry's mistake they play it down but when its Luiz mistake they spend the whole time talking about it.

Barcelona bound as Puyol's replacement?

I think nowadays he would probably be Pique's replacement and play alongside Mascherano at CB. The young lad Bartra seems to coming through and Pique might be given the boot within 18 months time, with Barca picking up a young (preferably Spanish) CB from "the best of the rest".

I am told he is content to sit in the stands for Chelsea, sees it as his destiny (or his punishment, to watch a Mourinho team try to play football).

"Everything in life belongs to God. Our purpose has already been mapped out.

This kind of fatalism would worry me in a defender. When he lets the opposition score, he'd be thinking 'no worries, this is already mapped out' :-\
