David Phillips

He runs the ‘Masons Arms’ in Chorley (with his Mrs Cheryl), right opposite my granddaughters nursery and over the road from my grandsons school, still not seen him even though I’m there once or twice a week though.
I'm over in February and will be staying.in Chorley.... hoping to pop in and he is there. Maybe he is in there in the evenings rather than afternoons

Probably mate, I’m mainly there mornings and afternoons (basically kids school times) for the last 7/8 years, not even seen him walking around, don’t even know what I’d do if I did see him, maybe just sprint at him ;-)

He was right about the Charlton attendance, Swales official figure was ludicrous, one of my fav ever games at Maine Rd. i have slightly sensitive hearing, the noise after the first goal was that loud i lost my hearing for about 30 seconds, fantastic day. Good player Phillips, scored some great goals.

Scored in my first ever City game (v Boro in '85). So he will always be my first 'favourite player'. I asked my Grandma to sew me a number 6 on the back of my 85-87 home shirt in homage to him too (in those days you'd have had to buy all 14 numbers from a sports shop just to get a 6!).

I wanted to name my son after Dave but wife didn't like David as a first name so we compromised..Phillip David..
He scored some cracking goals for us and it's good he still has good memories of his time with us.
