David Silva - 2016/17 performances

He possibly is the best footballer, especially on the eye but for influence since the takeover and what he actually did its Yaya all day long for me.
When I look back in 10 years time, I'll remember Yaya for some towering performances when it mattered. The FA Cup semi, the final, the penultimate game at Newcastle in 2011/12, the 2013/14 season, not least his goal at Wembley and the rest he scored. When I think about Silva I'll remember a really nice player who once really turned it on at Hull.

Go back to childhood when you dreamt of being a footballer and Silva is the exact type you wanted to be but like you, as easy on the eye he an be at times, its the Yaya's of this world that take games by the scruff of the neck and drag sides over the line time and time again.

Kun is above Silva as well because of the sheer amount of goals he has scored and the points he has bagged and just "that" goal and its importance.

Silva doesnt take a game by the scruff and drag the team through a bad performance like Yaya could. But some of those games when we have turned in a great team performance and controlled games David has been central to it. Very different players but both players I never thought wed see at City again. Much as the strikers always got the attention at Barcelona but it was Xavi pulling the strings. We wnt realise fully what we had until we try to replace him.

The Mancini bashing was silly but maybe it was because people were adjusting to top level football.

The Pellegrini lauding was silly but giving the benefit of the doubt perhaps it started off as an anti-Mancini view that went too far and they got in too deep to admit they were wrong.

But the Silva criticism is just going too far. They've jumped the shark now and no one takes them seriously anymore.

The best way to deal with a troll (or a group of trolls) is simply to ignore them. Starve them of attention.

I think that's probably the worst thing I've ever read on here. Given the utter shite spouted on here on a regular basis, that's quite impressive.
