Great post, another poster who is capable of analysing performances by watching and observing as opposed to just reading statistics.
The stats we have access to aren't the ones valued by professionals. So imo all those "end-product" analysis is not comprehensive enough to be objective. Pseudoscience rather than true science.
On another note, I came across a post in the Liverpool post-match thread about how Silva used to play well every game but is only good once in every four or five games this season. To the poster, whoever you are, no offence, but this is blatant exaggeration. If the first condition about Silva playing well every game were true, then of late I could only think of Leceister as the only not good game he had. And his form since late November has been rather indifferent for his standard in my opinion. If the second condition were true, the rest of the team must have been truely absymal, which is another exaggeration.
