Inpact sub ? No pace can't go past a player but he can pass it sidewards and even backwards after only having 3 or 4 touches , it's truly amazing how he does it watch looks back and sees Kolavor/Glichy and then gently strolls the ball to either or.

Special talent that .

7th most chances created in the league isn't bad for someone who only passes sideways and backwards

Yup, that's why he's won every major honour going for club and country and has over 100 caps for Spain.

[Blackadder] - I thought it was common maritime practice for a ship to have a crew?
[Captain Rum] - Opinion is divided on the subject my Lord
[Blackadder] - How so?
[Captain Rum] - All the other captains say it is, I say it isn't
[Blackadder] - Oh God, mad as a brush

You are Captain Rum and I claim my prize. Beyond that and the fact that he sits 18th (the highest ranked City player by a mile) on the Premier League all time assists chart with 61 (and needing only 3 more to climb to 13th), and when all those above him have played twice as many PL games as he has - something that flies directly contrary to the laughable assertion that all his passes go sideways or backwards - I don't intend to indulge you in this drivel any further. You've got loads of previous on this subject and I know it's pointless. You demonstrably haven't got a clue

If i played for Spain and City am pretty certain I could do his job fuck me please don't be silly where the fuck would we be without Yaya Toure goals against Stoke , them ****s , Newcastle etc...and putting that aside the 20 goals the last time we won the league, some City posters have said Silva is the best City player ever and better than Messi , granted he is no Craig Russell but best City player ever , come on now it's 2017

He's still a good player but has definitely declined in the last two years and will only get worse. If he isn't sold in the summer next season we will be lamenting his ongoing place in the squad like we are with Zabaleta now.

My all time favourite player.
But he is past his peak and although a think he still has a big role for us in our squad, I no longer believe he is good enough in the big games as a starter. start against the mid/lower teams, impact sub versus the big boys.
His record against the big boys this season suggests otherwise.

One of the most skilful midfielders to ever grace a sky blue shirt, and arguably the best player in the world, in games where City are already winning, and starting to catch the opposition on the break.

However, he often goes into his shell when things are going wrong, preferring to hide behind safe little return passes.
Yes, he’s won everything, but that was then, and this is now.

Slightly past his best, but still capable of fleeting moments of brilliance In fact Silva’s fading powers are a microcosm of the current team.

I was fairly confident about our chances until I learnt that Sané would be unavailable. Whenever KDB and Silva are part of our attacking 4, we become somewhat easy to defend against. We are badly in need of players that can consistently dribble past opposition

I watch him week in and week out and he does not do enough , can't beat a man and passes fucking sidewards .

After having 2 or 3 touches he passes sidewards or backwards and this slows us down can't wait till he is gone

Most over rated player in City's history

He's passed forwards more than any other player in the entire league this season. I posted the stats to you last week and you conveniently ignored it.

If you don't rate him for whatever reason, no problem, you're entitled to your opinion. But you need to stop saying he only passes sideways because it's sinply factually incorrect.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but people who think the world is flat are just factually incorrect, it's not open for discussion. Same as you thinking Silva only passes sideways, it may be your opinion, but your opinion is completely at odds with the facts.

The difference in performance from the first half against Liverpool to the second half was stark.

The level of improvement was down to Silva moving inside. He was our best player in the 2nd half by a million miles. Always wanting the ball and running the game.

DeBruyne did his disappearing act against Liverpool, something you could never accuse Silva of. A truly brave footballer.

Brilliant player for us. I think he's finished now. End of the line very painful to say but slows us down so much. Great to watch on the ball but recuces our attacks to walking pace. Love the guy but it's over. Compare him to delle Ali and the writing is on the wall. Thank you David but I think a return to Spain is needed. Heartbreaking though it is to me.

Wouldn't go that far, he's only 30. The problem he has is he needs people up top on his wave length, you saw the ball for Sane v Arsenal, he needs more of that because he can still do it.

He is always the one we can rely upon to pick the type of pass we need. His decision making is one of his biggest strengths.

I don't ever want to see him on the left wing again however.

I agree with those that he needs more movement in front of him than he is currently getting.

Great post . he is very overrated here .

Correct. I like KdB but when he's the no.10 and the midfield is being crowded out as it was after they scored then he needs to drop deeper to look for the ball, he's too passive in those situations.

De Bruyne had an absolute shocker on Saturday and there's no doubt that Silva was much better in the second half. But just remind me how him "running the game" ended up at 90 minutes? That's my major criticism of Silva. Lovely player to watch but nowhere near enough end product, which his 4 assists in 19 games shows. However he did have quite a decent effort on goal which makes a change.
