David Silva - I had faith

It wasn't a reflection on this Forum mate it was a reflection to other fans and the media I've never heard 1 City fan slag him off.
Alright, fair enough then. Don't deny that the media were quick to jump on our lack of 'world class' names in response to Mancini buying young talent. Something I thought was very funny because they were also banging on about us not being able to buy success. Which is it? ;) Can't deny either the negativity directed by our own towards many of our players but I haven't heard much uttered about Silva yet even though I don't venture into the transfer forum. Oh, and I don't listen to TalkShite either. ;)

you're exactly correct about his 'bounce-back-ability'. he has a superb all round attitude to the game.

he works non-stop to link and create.... keeps the ball, never plays team mates into trouble, always offers them an outlet, he is not burdened by an overwhelming need to be the star of the show.

the other major difference between him and Robinho, is that Silva's passing is extremely accurate, whereas Robinho was a dribbler who could barely kick a ball straight.
Disagree with that, I thought Robinho's passing was a cut above at times.

occassionally, yes, he found some lovely passes, but time after time he messed up simple stuff and gave the ball away needlessly. there's simply no comparison between their basic ability to pass the ball IMO. quickly playing angled stuff, to feet, with the correct weight, time after time, that's what's really tricky. even I can find a 'great pass' once in a while.

Oh come on, the player has been absolute class for a number of seasons now.
He doesn't have a thing to prove. He is a very, very good player to say the least of it. No way will he not come good.

Well put.
Well you're a clever little thing aren't you? Being a girl and all.

You are a girl? (I'm using my superior man's brain to deduce from your name that you are)

Exactly what i was thinking... plus he's started at least three games; Spurs, Timi and tonight.

A handful of games at the start of a season where Silva has been in and out is hardly "having faith". Maybe the OP just worded things a little stronger than usual.

I'm not sure what I've done wrong here? All I was trying to get at was when the Media and various fans from other teams have slagged him off I always had faith that he would prove his worth.

I wasn't aware that anyone was whinging about his. If you heard different, you must have been listening to closet rags who think it's funny to impersonate a blue and go around bollocks-mongering.

The only players I never hear the media slag is our English players which I find pretty unusual because there's been a few terrible games from Barry, but hey ho who am I to judge the media I'm sure they know what they're doing ;o). As for talkshite my dad continues to listen to this garbage on way to match days I beg him to turn it off but he refuses then gets angry in the process when they chat utter bullshit about our club last thing I heard them say about Silva was they don't think he's been playing because they don't reckon he's physically nor mentally up for the challenge in the Prem, and these people keep there jobs as football pundits it really makes you wonder.

Good player, now all we need is a manager who can manage and motivate a group of players who have no link to our club ( well most of them ).

God your back again.

Anyway to the Silva debate hes just a world class individual and just needed time to settle in and get some training in.

I never went away you know.

Don't like the thread? Don't read it. Simples.

I thoroughly enjoyed the match. I was impressed by Silva, to the extent that I can't wait to see him playing a lot more. Jo... there just may be hope after all! The lad did himself no harm at all tonight. Well done. Pab Zab is clearly a better right back than Micah. Proud of all the lads tonight!
