David Silva leaves City after 10 years

I remember the time (can't remember the opponents) where he ran around in a full circle leaving everyone in his wake. I have never seen anything like it. But my best moment was at the Bernabeu when the entire stadium stood to applaud him off the field. Only truly special players get that sort of ovation from Real Madrid fans. He is a genius. One of Spain's greatest ever players with 125 caps in an international team that is one of the best the world has ever seen.
 
The departures of Vinnie and Dave call to mind a quotation from Macbeth:
"Nothing in his life became him like the leaving of it".

Not literally their lives, but their careers here, which were terminated with quiet speed, dignity and good taste, no recriminations or long-drawn-out haggling.

Much as you would expect from such fine characters, and a dignified club.

As well as being and absolutely outstanding footballer he is also very inoffensive and actually very likeable.

I'm certain that if he hadn't ever graced us with his presence at City, he would still be a player that I would adore.

He's brilliant
 
i get a new shirt for my birthday every August this year will be a no brainer who's name /number will be on it. I have 2 with his name already but this will be the last and i want to remember him in this way, love the guy.

You'd have to give it to CR7 if he was here long enough, but he wasn't. As well as being a nob and playing for *them*.

Pep has always gone with the player with the most appearances gets the armband.

So he was going to be the captain 99% of the time by default anyway.

It Will be really nice to hear from David a lot more though, if hes taking on the full captaincy role then hell be speaking st press conferences 2x a week.

It's pretty much the standard approach in Spain, isn't it? Or is that just Italy?

Did Kompany do all the press stuff? I didn't think he did.

When you consider the rags signed him in the same summer as we bought that useless fucker Agüero, and their respective careers since, it really is a no-brainer.
