David Silva leaves City after 10 years

There was talk of that a few years ago however I think that's unlikely to happen now.

They are mid table in division 2 and are not financially stable.

He has a lot of business interests on the island and it wouldn't surprise me if he just retired completely from football and enjoyed his life back home. He absolutely deserves it
Might suit him to be in semi-retirement close to his family, friends and investments? He’d certainly put a few on the gate at Las Palmas as well.
Sadly wishful thinking on my part, I suspect you might be right and he just calls it a day

Here’s to you, David — you are an artist, a gentleman, an inspiration, and now a legend.

May we give you the one trophy that has yet escaped you.

That offer of impregnating my missus is still active even if you leave, by the way.

We really ought to win it, to give him a full set of trophies.

Of course, his one player of the month award will still take pride of place, as it's obviously so much more difficult to win one of those.

Thanks, a wonderful video of a truly fantastic and brilliant player. His ball control, agility and passing is Messi like and deserves to be talked about in the same sentence.I will shed a tear when he leaves. I encourage every City fan to watch this compilation and never forget our Merlin. He is a true City and Spanish legend.

Thanks for that.

They could never tackle him. In fact thinking back it’s been very rare that he ever lost the ball. He’s been that good.

The most decorated player in our history and imo the best.

Name that stand after him.

Anything else is under-appreciating him.
I would still love to see something like this (from the David Silva Stand thread.

Now, about honouring David: I have been advocating for a statue for him for sometime.

Lately, I have had this silly idea that the club should look at the celebrations right after the 93:20 moment from the regular broadcast camera angle, and take a snapshot at the moment Kun is swinging his shirt in the air and running down touch. They should then note the relative positions and celebration postures of David, Vinny, and Joe (David running arms in the air above him, Vinny doing his low clinched fist stride with intense mouth-gapping scream, Joe trying to achieve sufficient lift to take off in to the sky on the other side of the pitch). They would then commission slightly oversized (perhaps 1.5x) statues of all four of them in those celebrations with the statues spaced apart in their relative positions to Kun at that moment, so you could walk through one of the greatest moments in our club’s history, honouring some of the best players ever to grace it. They could have it between the stadium and the store (likely to the right of where they put up the stage for City Square, as you are looking at the stadium) so nearly everyone, lifelong supporter and tourist alike, walk through it at some point.

As I said, a bit silly, and will most certainly not be what the club decide to do, but it is what’s been stuck in my mind as of late (god knows the missus has heard me describe to other blues enough times that some might think it already exists).
