He can play on the left, on the right, or in the hole. He'd be excellent on the left of a 4231. I honestly don't think Robinho has a future at our club, and Bellamy seems to have his heart set on a move to Cardiff, so i'd expect us to line up with Silva on the left and Johnson on the right, should Silva actually sign. If we play 4312, Silva will be able to play in behind Tevez and Ade. With Yaya, Barry/De Jong and possibly Milner as the midfield 3.
Would just caution that Spanish football is very different to english football. It's all about retaining possession. Pass pass and move. Might not find it so easy in this League. Rieira looked good playing for Spain.
The top teams in the prem play possession football, pass pass and move.

And I notice its under the heading of "Rumours" so he knows the same as the rest of us. FA.

he'll reject us and either stay at valencia or go to someone with chump football

Thats always the worry when we go in pursuit of very good players, however surely city have gauged with his agent how open he is to coming??

I hope we sell him the vision, look at the players we have already etc, just hope he isn't too short sighted and see's next season CL football will be at city.

That has to be the main objective of Cook and Marwood.
Just hope he can see further than next season.
Still concerned that things will go tits up at the last moment.
Hell i hope I`m proven wrong.
Wonder what old Bacon Face would have to say if it became a reality ???

We should not spend big monies on players unless its odds-on they will produce

pay over the odds for Premiership experience and players like Yaya Toure. Silva might easily flop

I'm sure city have done their homework on silva tbh, there is always risk when buying players from abroad. However spain is a good league and silva has consistently performed over a few seasons.... sometimes you gotta go for it.

i personally would prefer that silva went to chelsea for the right reasons(CL football),rather than to us for the wrong reasons(cash)......

I would agree if he was only signing a one year contract. However, if he signs a four year contract, I'd like to think we'll be competing with Chelsea on all fronts, and even exceed them in that time. If your looking only at this season i think that's very short sighted on you're behalf.

Right now, at the radio are telling that last week Manuel Llorente (our president), a lawyer, and Cook meet at a restaurant near Valencia. That the deal might be closed, but maybe they are waiting next friday (so National Team cant be distract from the crucial match against Chile) to announce the deal.
Anyway, none of these parts admited this.
