He is when he's fit. 22 goals in 32 games is an incredible record. However, here's the rub. Should we be paying £52 squillion for a player that only made 32 appearances all competitions last season. YES No

He's a fine player no doubt, but is he actually worth the money considering how much time he spends on the treatment table?
YES No

First its not your or my money, and if our owner think he`s worth that, it not our place to argue. If someone wants to buy you a very expensive present, its a bit ingracious to complain that the price was too high. If you want to buy the best, (particularly bearing in mind the selling club know we are minted), we have to be prepared to pay top prices.

Secondly, as many others have pointed out, his injury record is only so poor, because Liverpool have constantly rushed him back prematurely, out of necessity (their only decent striker), rather than give him sufficient time to recover from what started out as a far lesser injury. If he were to sign for us, he could be rested, rather than play carrying injuries.

not even just rushing him back - he hasn't had a proper break in years

2006 - World Cup
2007 - CL qualifiers
2008 - Euros
2009 - Confederations

I have on numerous boards City fans that find something wrong with all the players we are linked to. Milner isnt good enough, SIlva isnt EPL proven, Yaya isnt creative, Torress is injury prone. And say they arent worth the money.

First its not our money, its the owners. And we arent a club that will pressure a player just cause of high price tag, we will have several priced players, so not that much added pressure.

I think some City fans like being the lovable losers, and all this success while nice they dont know how to cope with the piss taking we get from other teams fans either Top 4 or middle of the table clubs.

Every club started somewhere. And thankfully we have Roberto , since he has seemed to sold atleast our first two targets on the future of City.

I'm really trying to be patient but it's so hard knowing that anything could happen. It's brilliant isn't it, I don't how we got through the pre-Sheikh summer holidays, the transfer forum keeps City alive pre-season.

sounds very much like another striker we have, i'd leave well alone til next year when maybe just maybe he'll show he's up for it
