He is when he's fit. 22 goals in 32 games is an incredible record. However, here's the rub. Should we be paying £52 squillion for a player that only made 32 appearances all competitions last season.

He's a fine player no doubt, but is he actually worth the money considering how much time he spends on the treatment table?

Whilst at Liverpool he has never had chance to heal properly. AT least if we rotate better we could have a world beater on out hands !!!

Good point and he may not play more than 45 games this season, providing the he is fit and ready when we need him in important matches, semi finals and finals, not Scunthorpe away.

Excellent point. At Liverpool he's constantly rushed back as they are so reliant on him. With the size and quality squad we should have next year he will be able to recover and be rested when necessary. Playing with Tevez will also ease a little of his workload.

Smith's father was honest with the change in the negotiations: "I know that, as in Valencia is not anywhere, but there are compelling reasons to rule."

Well, who could argue with that?

He also had words for the situation of his son in South Africa: "For me, should play him and ten more. Has been a key so far."

I agree. Fielding eleven players is a good idea.

Opinion of the Madrid fans:

Madrid fans are just as bad as the rags. No connection to the club what so ever.

All they have ever known is winning and one season without a trophy they whine and call for the managers head.
