All the above events went on to happen. Oh wait...

So what about being odds on to sign Tevez, Lescott, Santa Cruz, etc?

They don't mean it is definitely going to happen, just that it is more probable.

odds easiest way

first number is what you get if you bet the second number.

eg 6/1 you get 6 for every 1 you bet
eg 1/9 you get 1 for every 9 you bet.

Often, yes. But odds reflect betting patterns. If people are betting using false information as their guide, which is likely since the Silva "info" has come off Bluemoon, then it's not probable at all.

Odds reflect betting patterns, which in turn are influenced by information. Info is unreliable (our own transfer forum proves this). Therefore, it follows that odds themselves are unreliable as a means of predicting future outcomes. Well... that's how i look at them anyway.
