mata/silva banega maduro
£40m

(from a mate whos probably chattin shit)

lol, I like your last line.

Mata would be good signing but is a player that needs time to develop and adapt to the Prem. But he has potential to be a very good winger.

Re: David Silva

It sounds to me like more like what someone else said earlier in this thread...

We want Madrid to do a deal on a player / players so we have allowed the Silva story to leak... (or someone has let it leak)
Madrid don't want to get into a bidding war so have agreed the deal on the players and we have put the trip "on hold" until things are sorted out...

It probably goes on a lot more than people realise.

This is probably the only way we can flex our financial muscle at the moment - the top players aren't attracted to us yet, but we can broker deals by waving the city cheque book around and getting other clubs to give in / back down.

Re: David Silva

About a month old, but says he would be interested in a move to the Premier League. Don't worry about the rag link, they can't afford him ;)

This makes a lot of sense to me, let's hope so. And also it means we're probably not just talking Gago - I don't think they'd go to all that trouble just for him, because I don't think Madrid would be that reluctant to let him go...

Re: David Silva

in other words, are we using silva as ransom?

crikey we have a pure Don heading our business and i like it.

Re: David Silva

I would cream if we signed Silva.

Not really (but i would be happy!)

Just thinking exactly the same thing when I read both these excellent posts. Are we keeping the costs down for Higuain, Van Der Vaart or possibly even Kaka?

And as much as i don`t like old Twitcher `arry from Spuds, perhaps there was more to it with Bellers signing for us when we apparently flexed our muscles ??

Silva would be a great signing and send a message out to the world, another option I would seriously be weighing up would be Joe Cole to be our midfield playmaker, he was a central player at West Ham he just hasn't been given that chance at Chelsea but I believe its his best position, would cost nothing other than big wages but he is onlt about 28...... worth a dabble to me

has played more than 300 games for them lol.

In central midfield get ur brain in gear before your mouth pal
