David Silva (Overated/Underated)

I rate him very highly but just for now I am not going to go OTT and put him as a great. Maybe he is just missing one more top class player to play with but what I want him to do to totally convince me is win big matches for us.

Not just play well and look good but actually be the man to win key games for us.

We need someone else who can create but sit back more to ease the responsibility on Silva and create opportunities from elsewhere. I suppose it would be asking too much to expect Michael Johnson to miraculously return to how he was, but there are many quality players out there who could slot in next to De Jong and Yaya and contribute more than Barry and Milner.

Whats with excusing Yaya? Given the option i'd take Barry or,preferably,Milner everytime.

In reality though, all are too similar in what they offer and none are of the quality required to win the Champs league.

Silva is a fantastic player. One of the best attacking midfielders in the world, up there with the absolute very best in terms of technical skill and vision.

One criticism would be that he needs to score more goals. He's adapted to the game very well and in a short space of time tho so I'm sure they will come.

Well he is enigmatic and I'm basing it on the hope that he will become more consistent as he is unplayable at his best and infuriating at his worst, almost a midfield version of Adebayor.

I do think Barry is a good player but I'm not sure he and De Jong are both needed in 85% of our games and De Jong is much better defensively and part of our team's backbone which is why De Jong/Yaya/that new player (Sneijder/Schweinsteiger/someone else of immense quality) could be a nicely balanced midfield trio if we continue to use our system.

Are you sure about that?

I mean, it's not as if one of them has ALREADY won the Champions League with another team he used to play for, is it?

Oh...
