David Silva retires from football (pg13)

View attachment 117196

still my favourite ever city photo. it was away at QPR when we won 3-2 (?) two weeks after the old trafford mauling. Silva with a dead touch to wrong foot the whole defence and then whip it home to take the lead. On MOTD that evening Hansen said he was the best player in the league and everyone else accepted the title was there for us to take. we’ve never looked back.
What a fucking player, so sublime and effortless on the eye - and what beautiful hair.

Outstanding contribution to our wonderful club............

On this day in 2010, it was reported that Manchester City were interested in signing the little-known Spanish playmaker, David Silva.

Many reports were sceptical that he would be able to stand up to the rigours of the Premier League, and that the £24 million fee and £100k/week wages would be wasted.

He didn’t do too badly for a waste of money, did he?

I can still remember Sky Sports' Spanish football "expert" Billy Ballbag ( Guillaume Baluge) who said "he won't last long, he'll be homesick"

What a plonker

Personally thought he was gash - the media were still getting things right about us then!
How many medals did he win??
I reckon for the money we paid for the fake Anderson, and the Aguero money we spunked away the next window we could deffo have got Phil Jones who is (and always will be) the best of the 3
