david silva return

Yes we missed him, hes a little genius but I thought Nasri did a very good impression yesterday Tracking back, dribbling out of tight situations and generally trying to create something up front. Be brilliant if they could be both intergrated into the team just behind the forwards.

We played fine against west ham

We created 2 chances that were clear cut that should have been converted, balotelli and barry.

Plus a fair few decent chances that could have been converted. Another day we'd have scored 2 or 3.

That said we look a lot better with david on the pitch.

I think Nasri is industrious, works hard, better in the tackle and is contributing plenty this year - but he can't unlock a defence like Silva can...

I agree with you about Nasri's performance, however I think he is fully capable of unlocking defences he just seems to play safe all the time. Silva is always looking for someone to make the run and will instinctivley put a ball through, so many times it comes off, but there are times the ball gets cuts out or the pass isn't quite accurate enough, Nasri seems reluctant to release the ball unless it's a sure thing it'll reach the player.
In particular when Silva isn't in the team we need Nasri to be braver with his passing and be willing to try that killer pass more often.

Silva is the best player in the league and one of the Top 3 in the world at keeping possession and creating space for other players with his intelligent movement and passing, literally only Xavi and Iniesta are better in my opinion in his position. Comparing him with Yaya is silly because Silva couldn't do what Yaya does and Yaya couldn't do what Silva does, we need them both.
