Re: Silva is our most important player

All this talk about the most important player is bollocks - don't you get it, its not about one player - its a team game - without the movemnent of other players, Silva/Yaya are ineffective over the course of a whiole game - one man running his guts out does win games at places like Stoke - or anywhere else for that matter - I'm tired of, when we dip slightly, there's a clamour about we are missing this person or that person - bollocks, we just didn't play well enough as a TEAM

The one thing we need right now is team mentaiity + spirit, utter believe in ourselves (its defintiely a bit shaky on that regard) and an understanding of EVERY team member on the picth what the plan is.

Having said all that, I am happy with our start, not setting anyone on fire yet, but come Christams I'd rather teams were nervously looking over their shoulders and seeing the mighty City breathing down their necks compared to us topping the league and burning out

thank fuck. someone on here has some common sense.

Silva and Yaya are both exceptional footballers who bring different styles to our team.

I have to say though, nothing is as good as seeing Yaya go on one of his marauding, unstoppable gallops. He's like an elemental force of nature.

But a team splitting pass from Silva comes close. Silva -> Dzeko in the Sickswan. Oh. My. Word.

as others have pointed out it is not either/or with silva and yaya - we need both

if we are relying on just one way to open a team it's obviously harder

if silva starts and for whatever reason the intricate passing doesn't open a defence, what an option to be able to release yaya and play a more powerful game

that's what teams found it hard to deal with last season, defending one way for 70 minutes and then having to adjust to something totally different - we've not asked that question enough this season

David Silva not only brings his own fantastic abilites to a game, he also makes everyone else play better. Samir is twice the player when David is playing, and he makes our four forwards all look better than they are with constant chances created for them (he's missed a number of games but is still top of the chnaces created for teammates list this season!).

There are only a few players who can single handedly raise the team. I think we have 2 : Tevez and Silva. When they are on the pitch the whole team plays better.

You can add Barry to that. There are very few games when those 3 start that we do not win. Real madrid is the only one I can remember that we've lost when all 3 have started.

Does anyone still disagree with this original post?

Why the fuck has this been merged, separate discussion

Yes pal if we replace Silva with a hardworking, honest, committed player we miss the creativity and touch of David Silva. Groundbreaking I know.
