David Silva Song?

My god, writing lyrics to songs you'll never sing.

Football chants just happen, a certain time, a certain place. They certainly are NOT born on forums by amateur songsmiths looking for every minor detail of the lyrics to either be factually accurate or to rhyme perfectly or whatever it is people on here seem to want from a song. Why is this so hard for people to understand? why do people persist writing lyrics on here? "I think this works better" "it should be this, it should be that" Give it a rest now. Leave the songs to form naturally in pubs before games and at matches themselves. Simple!

The song born in Villereal is EXACTLY how a song should form and take off. That night, in that bar, it just happened! And it took off. The next night the whole end was singing it by full time.

Therefore, it is the right one. No need for a new thread, no need for tweaked lyrics, the silva song is now set in stone and will be sung by those that actually go to matches whether people on here like it or not.

And I have tried to stay away from the old, match going fans argument because I understand it's not easy to attend matches, but in this instance, it couldn't be more apt. Leave the songs to the match going fans please.

Yes, you must be correct.

Surely?

I mean the Balotelli song.....oh.

Here - put another one in your pipe and see how it smokes - this one was penned by 'chanceatthefarpost' on here - fancy a wager on seeing if it is sung by match-going fans, oh font of all knowledge? 'Cos I reckon we'll be singing this against Newcastle, regardless of what YOU do!!

Ohhh Micah Richards
He's a full back, he loves the blues,
He looks like Balotelli but he doesn't wear a hat,
He doesn't play for England 'cos Capello is a twat!
Ohhh Micah Richards......

David Silva Song ????

Both the Balotelli song and this new Richards song are ORIGINAL songs. Nothing like them had/has been sung for those players so fingers crossed the Richards one does. Only issue is the same tune for 2 players??? Bloody hell, sounding like some of you's now! ;)

My original point was made because the Silva song had already "hit the terraces" or however you want to put it. IT (like the Balotelli song on the train) had already happened. Most of the hardcore have already sung it and yet still people wrote new lyrics. That was my point! Totally different with Balotelli and this new Richards song as they hadn't/haven't been sung by anyone yet at a match.

Do you get where I was coming from now?? Wasn't meant as a I'm the number one fan thread at all

David Silva Song ????

And DTeacher, I'm not a betting man, but I don't think the Richards song will take off. The lyrics are good, nearly all those written are clever and funny. I wasn't denying that.

Just personally think that this isn't how songs form and the Balotelli song apart (this was formed in a pub in Buxton somewhere after Everton away, BEFORE being put on here for others to see, but I'll let you have that one as BM did spread it quickly) I think you'll find that's how all the songs that actually stick originate

Re: David Silva Song ????

Okay, GresleyChris, you made some fair points there.

I still think (and hope) that the Richards song will take off.

;o)

Re: David Silva Song ????

Why would we sing the Balotelli song for Richards? Oh and when Capello picks him/leaves in about 9 months time the song is irrelevant. Not for me. Nor the "2nd verse" for the Balotelli song.

Where is the song for Silva?

Re: David Silva Song ????

I think it's great that we're posting new songs on a web forum; some are funny, others are pants; some will take off, others not.... I just like sharing in a bit of blue humour!

So, here's my ditty for the Wizard; inspired by his wonderful goal at the swamp and De Gea's subsequent hilarious reaction "it's not fair mummy....they're just too good!" stamping his arms on the floor!! Classic! If any reaction could sum up united it was this one!

Very simple, to the tune of 'This city is ours...'

Who left De Gea
Sat thumping the grass?
Our David Silva
Is just fu*@in class!

Re: David Silva Song ????

GC is correct though, real football songs are born in the pubs/terraces.
The David Silva song is a real memory of the Vilareal/valencia trip. Along with running up 200 steps to fly a flag, introducing the lads from Chadderton to eating caricoles (snails), not remembering how I got to the game, singing Balotellis name when Toure scored, singing Dzeckos name when Kolarov came on, being suprised at all the steps on the way out as they weren't there on the way in and drinking and singing the night away.

Everytime i hear that song it will take me back to its birth/adoption and im sure it will for 1500 other blues.
