David Silva

So we agree about Spain......what about Nolito ?
Ive tried to be polite,i sent you a pm requesting you stay on topic, you brought Nolito into it,and subsequently gained my attention...... by ridiculously labelling him a Championship player.....you then attempted to be a smart arse by use of selective quoting.

So,if you want to continue contributing to this thread, discuss David Silva and do so in a sensible manner.

The one positive of this tournament was the form and particularly the fitness of David Silva.

But I would love to know how his "ankle injury' disappears when he plays for Spain.

It doesn't disappear - what happens is he's afforded a bit more space for Spain and the intensity that the Premier league brings isn't as full on. Every single game he plays for us results in kicks to the ankle area. Most are discreet and a little niggly but others more blatant and unfortunately the refs allow it week after week resulting in it (his ankle) giving in on a much more regular basis.

Hw was not last night, he was playing Italians that were 100% up for it, they were taking no prisoners, and in my opinion that's how the game should be played.

I didn't see him getting deliberately kicked on the ankle last night. Italy were in their faces and worked hard off the ball but that didn't mean they were kicking the Spanish players all over the pitch.
Silva gets at least one kick on the ankle a game in the league.

When the ex manager of our club each week made a public statement that Silva had an ankle problem is it any wonder the opposition go looking for the said ankle, they would be stupid not to.

Im not disagreeing with that. Just pointing out the difference between the league and international games.

I think the initial ankle problem was from a Euro 16 qualifier playing for Spain
The one this season was yeah. He never quite recovered from that, though there were positive signs for Spain.
It's not a new occurrence though, he's been targeted for a couple of seasons now. Hopefully see a return to full fitness in time for the new season.
