David Villa - Bad player or not?

I don't know very much about him. I've seen him play for Spain and for Valencia but he's never really stood out for me. Clearly he must be very good technically. I hope Robi and Tevez are still here when he arrives as they will be able to speak Spanish to him, and their game will complement his.

Spain are playing this system for a reason. Del Bosque has doubts about the physical strength of his team along with the concerns over the fitness of Cesc and Alonso. Hence Busquets in the team and the flair of Silva left out. This has pushed Villa out wider and into a striking position from the left much like Tueart and Trevor Francis for us in the past. When Ade drifts out wide it has always been in search of service due to the lack of a play maker in the City midfield. I dont see it as comparable.

Villa is an excellent player and good luck to him at Barca as well. Ade on his day is unplayable and with our acquisitions this summer will have many more days to come in sky Blue. Bollocks to those who say he doesn't put a shift in.

Oops! :D

In the name of consistency I think it's only right that BM views David Villa as a complete failure of a human being. Goals are cheap, Robinho and Adebayor can testify to that, what makes Villa such a poor player is his inability to play left back/left wing/striker and run none stop for 90 minutes huffing and puffing.

You can keep your flash goal scoring foreigners.

Got it in one.

You can shove the world cup up your arse, it's worthless if you don't track back. If you watch the true greats of world football you'll notice that they spend all game in their own half 'getting stuck in' and 'just fucking clearing it'. Leave the goalscoring to poncy foreigners, we don't need that shit in England we have our own beautiful game and it's called 'kick and rush'.

To be fair the world's best player and one of the most technically gifted of all time, Messi, does a hell of a lot of grafting for Barca. In fact the whole team do and they play very expansive, skillful football. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Agreed. But people go overboard on here.
