Was a strange player David White ..... most rag fans didn't seem to rate him , and probably a fair amount of City fans didn't either , yet he did a pretty good job for us in his time here .... he could look gangly and clumsy on occasion , and that hardly helped his cause , but he certainly could 'shift' alright , when he so desired !
Acoordin' to wikipedia he scored 79 goals in 286 appearances for us ...
I was at the Villa game you mention when he hit four goals , that was exceptional .... other things that stick out on my mind are a goal or two of his that floored Liverpool at Maine Road one balmy summers evening .... his run that lad to keith Curles penalty at the Swamp ...... the Huiddersfield 10-1 rout ..... and that stunning cross onto Hinchcliffes head in the 5-1 derby win of 1989!
