David White is a City legend. I remember one of my first games at Maine Road and we beat Liverpool (unheard of in that era, though Souness had just taken over) 2-1 and I remember David banging it past Groballaer as I then got almost crushed to death in the Kippax. Used to love standing as a kid but I do look back sometimes and think I'm lucky to have not been seriously hurt.
So many great David White memories, remember him scoring a pearler at Goodison when I was in the Bullens Road with a schoolmate who was a toffee, we were only about 10 and I couldn't help but celebrate as it was a real beauty, worth the abuse from a load of angry scousers, let me off any worse than a bit of abuse as I was just a little kid haha.
Also recall bumping into him at the club shop one day at Maine Road, he was a really nice bloke, signed my shirt and had a chat with me about my own dreams of playing for the blues. Met Mike Watson same day who was a top bloke too, I didn't know who he was but my dad told me that as a young centre half myself he was the perfect role model for me.
It's funny to remember the days when David White, Mike Sheron and Niall Quinn were are star players and heroes. These kids today having to put up with imposters like Silva, Aguero and Tevez.
