Only because I had a fight with him on Worsley golf course many moons ago.


Footballing wise he was a good player.

What a brilliant claim to fame, having a scrap with David White.

Not a claim to fame at all pal. I was playing golf and he stormed onto the course for reasons not to be discussed on here. Luckily I had 3 witnesses who backed my story up when he went running to the old bill. Fuck the fact he played for city,he is a grade a fat bastard-well he was last time I was rolling around the floor with him which is quite a few yrs ago now. In relation to the poster who asked who won, I really wouldn't know but it wasn't me who rang the old bill.

Remember clearly that game v Leicester at home in 86/7, where we lost 1-2. He must have got one out of about 10 crosses in. As someone said earlier, he was fine when he didn't have to think about things - ie he didn't have much of a football brain, or much confidence, yet he had blistering pace.

That said he was a very good finisher and made himself into a better crosser - the 5-1 bearing that out. What a cross that was for Hinchcliffe.

I was there at Villa Pk that day with a couple of Villa mates on the Holte End - unable to go ballistic! What a performance - Whitey was on fire. he was a very exciting player with that push and run style or running onto a long pass.

I'm saddened to read negative stories about him but if they are true, they don't reflect well. i was sad to see how big he'd become at City square.

Fantastic player for us and every bit as good as bale! His pace was a fantastic weapon( how the fuck we could use someone like him now). Scored freely off the wing too. His family were involved in the scrap business IIRC.
