De Bruyne injury - Back in Training (p89)

Sorry for Kev. Hope he recovers soon.

As far as impact on our side though - it should be minimal. We're facing weak opposition over the next several games and we're extremely deep at attacking mid.

Some players will be missed. KdB certainly one of them. You just need to look at the number of assists last season.
However it does not necessarily mean we will start dropping points. And we will be able to field 11 players with one of them taking KdB’ position. Pep needs to find a way to keep going without the masterclass.
It’s a pity and in a way interesting to see what it brings.

If he comes back earlier than whats being quoted how long before our raggie friends at Redcafe start banding accusations of Pep using illegal drugs to juice the players performance? I got a text off my rag mate celebrating kev was injured, how far they have fallen 'the greatest club in the world' celebrating little City losing one of their players as they think it might give them a sniff in the title race.

When do you think we'll get clarification on the nature of the injury? I am thinking that City will have a pre-match Hudds press conference but assume that will be tomorrow?

Yeh best time to have a bad thing happen. Hard to quantify the impact of his loss but if he is out for an extended period there will be games were he will be missed and this will most likely translate into points lost. importantly we may have to alter our pattern of play somewhat as I don't see an obvious like for like replacement for Kev. Gundog is nowhere near direct and incisive enough. Also Merlin is probably going to play more than is to be desired at this stage of his career I though he looked jaded in Russia and international retirement was inevitable really. I think we will manage just about as long as the injury is not worse than is being reported.
Leave the thinking to Pep mate

Surprised they think it affects them. They are not in the title race.

Unless things have changed I think the scope for drugs in sport was focused on blood doping, muscle growth and repair of muscle tissue. This is a different type of injury so let them whine away.
