De Bruyne injury - Back in Training (p89)

We cant drop Bernardo on Kevs return so do we employ him slightly deeper and as a replacement for Dinho?

Walker---Laporte---Stones---Delph
--------------KDB--------------
--------Silva-------Silva-------
----Sterling--Aguero--Sane-----

We conceded just 3 goals in 8 games with 5 clean sheets. Let us not mess up the defensive structure which has Dinho playing a pivotal role.

I think he'll be a permanent fixture in the side with players rotating around him. I don't think there will be a one for one swap.

Out of interest, but why did you put Delph at left back rather than our £50mil first choicer?

I think we are a better team with Delph, far more fluid and solid. He also comes inside to help cover attacks where necessary and allows Sane the extra freedom.

I wonder if KDB was fit yesterday who would be dropped? I'm guessing Bernardo would have replaced Mahrez on the right with KDB next to Fernandinho.

I suspect that would have happened, yes. It nullifies, somewhat,Bernardo though, and that is a mistake IMO.

Is he going to be playing for Belgium? Hope not.

We need this guy back for these big games so badly. We also need to start Sane ffs.

He's not listed for the line up versus the Netherlands. It's a friendly anyway so no need for us to risk injuring him. Granted beating the Netherlands as Belgians is always a great plus (its the lowlands derby afterall) but i presume we have enough depth to handle it eitherhow.

It'd be cool to test that. We all love Fernandinho but we have to find an alternative soon and if we could do it with existing players all the better. In a similar vein ????...

KDB & Bernardo with Zinchenko as DM
KDB & Bernardo with Delph as DM
KDB & Bernardo with Danilo as DM
KDB & Bernardo with Laporte as DM

or even

KDB as DM with Bernardo and Mendy as the forward moving engine
KDB as DM with Bernardo and Foden as the forward moving engine
KDB as DM with Bernardo and Zinchecko as the forward moving engine
