To be fair what would anyone say when put in that position ? i'm not saying that he isnt staying but until there is something official I will have to wait and see.

Maybe it is a face saving exercise for the fans, saying he isn't going but then if the club accept our bid then the situation changes.

Who knows, but it seems a quite abrupt about turn if he does indeed stay.
