Anyone in involved in negotiating complex deals will know that deadlines can come and go with regularity. You can get to a stage where you think you have agreement and then a curve ball comes in that no one had foreseen (in a football context think third party image rights, payment terms, agents fees, loyalty bonuses etc) it's perfectly feasible that a deal had been agreed in principle last Friday only for a last minute hitch to occur. It's usual that the 'actual' deadline is what will drive everyone to reach agreement as that is the point of no return. I think it's clear that this deal is in place it's just overcoming last minute negotiations so I expect the deal to be concluded on deadline day.
