who knows if its true or not.
pure speculation from newspapers yet again
this is old news, De jong himself have said contracts talks are stalled.

i dont really care to be honest, he will not earn more anywhere els, and why wouldnt he want to be part of City in the future, is beyond me. (if thats is the case)
no i mean that he's "rejected" a new contract who knows might be bullshit

We looked better when he went off against Swansea and look infinitely more fluid against Bolton as well.

When yaya went forward Milner or Barry and on occasion Silva stayed back. Bolton didnt know who to pick up. With De Jong its easier for the opposition to track runs. Harder for them to break us down though.

I'd rather won 3-2 on Sunday than 1-0 but maybe that's just me.

We should just pay De Jong, he has a point when some
players that he plays more than are on more money.
Don't get ripped off by him but just pay him what all the
other top players are on, he's too good to lose. Why not
just pay him some of Adebayor's wages when he goes?

I think De Jong is sensible enough to not go anywhere near this tosser.

why? As shown with his automobile business, De Jong is a businessman.

That said, even if he turned this contract down, end of the day no one will pay him more than we will.

It was reported 3 or 4 weeks ago that contract talks had "stalled", that doesn't mean he's rejected a contract, just he wants more from the deal. He has time left on his contract, and we pay more than anyone else does, so chances are he'll eventually sign one, meanwhile he's getting less than he would if he'd just signed the offered deal.

All those saying that City shouln't deal with Kia, well all things point to the fact we no longer do, but there is nothing we can do to stop our players employing him as an advisor, after all City once did.

The players will look after themselves before the interests of the club, and his track record suggests he gets better deals for players than most other agents, so why would a player not employ him ? His handling of Tevez recently hasn't been great though, hopefully any players using him will have noticed this.

yes agreed, I really don't see why we can't just pay the man. he's firmly in our starting 11 more often than not, and he's an important piece. I'm not naive enough to think just because we looked "good" in a game and a half without him (we did concede two against Bolton, remember), that we can just "go out and get another defender".. I think Nige is a special breed and tough as nails. We can't be paying him less than banished players who just do light workouts three times a week. I'm scared of where this will all lead, but hopefully he signs eventually and it ends well.

Thats precisely the point. Attacking & defending as a team ala Barca.
Rather than playing defensively & ending up in too many draws which was Hughes' downfall and could have been Mancini's.

Leave this simple thot
We can have 36 draws & still get relegated. No?
Will we with 18 losses and 18 wins?
A great team manager should always go for the Win till the last second. Especially with City with the wherewithal. We should never be satisfied with a draw!

-- Tue Aug 23, 2011 3:39 am --

BTW did de Jong hired Joor or did Kia hired Nige?

I think City play nice football without De Jong. Let's hope this is the beginning of the end for Nigel in City.
Put your rod away and stop fishing!

Dead serious.
Don't believe you for a second. Nige is important to us, and anyone who doesn't think that must obviously just sit at home on a sofa watching football.....

I'm not one of the 'pay him what he wants' brigade, but he is very important to us. I don't really care who his agent is, as I firmly believe City will offer him what he deserves, and if that doesn't meet his expectations then we'll certainly make a profit on him.

I wish it was the beginning of the end of you supporting the same club as me. I was right to say I hated many of my fellow City fans in another thread. Loads are worlds most annoying!

Thread full of morons, it's just a thread full of morons, thread full of morons, it's just a thread full of morons!

I do think Kia is a fooking snake and he is not a licensed agent so why is he allowed to do this, surely this is like waving two fingers to the rules regarding agents being licensed etc etc, gtfo advisor.

Can we not make a club rule that would be like...

1, Manchester City football club will only deal with licensed agents regarding contract dealings and player acquisition or sales.

2, Any player using a non licensed agent will not be recognized regarding transfers or contract negotiations.

Can we do that ?

Yeah I think we can because Kia has been banned from other clubs around Europe I think
I also have the same opinion as you, he is not even licensed to be an agent so he decides he is a football "mentor" after the Tevez carry on he should be banned from our club

I can understand De Jongs feelings watching the likes of Ade and Bellamy receiving higher wages for doing very little while he contributes to a successful team. However thats not a justified reason to offer him more money, transfers dont always workout and although De Jong is important to the team, like at every other club its the goalscorers, or the players who can change the game who will receive the higher wages.

With the impending arrival of Nasri the dynamics of the midfield is about to change. Potentially one of De Jong, Barry, Yaya will no longer be regulars in the side. Yaya offers the aerial ability at set pieces the ability to change position, excellent passing, an eye for goal, and with his runs the ability to drive the midfield forward. De Jong is limited in many of those areas.

I said it on another thread City are lucky to have De Jong but De Jong is extermely lucky to play for a manager and fans who appreciate his style of play so much and value his strengths over the deficiencies to his game.

The midfield for me is still too ponderous at times and against Swansea we had Silva picking the ball up from the central defenders which was just absurd to raise the pace of the game. James Milner certainly made a difference on sunday and offered more dynamism to the midfield. You are valued at the club, but hiring Kia and changing dynamics could alter that position.

I dont know if its true but if it is I should imagine the club wont be happy dealing with him and DeJong may end up regretting it
