Well you could argue if he is leaving Milan then he won't want to be heading into a similar situation.
I think utd's demise is more assured and i do not follow Italian footy enough to know or really care.
Doubtful he would go to a club on the slide when he will have suitors that are on the up or already near the top.
That though is a credible argument at any rate.

Their midfield lacks pace, movement, playmaking, creativity - to be honest he will sure them up to concede a fewer but would stunt their attacking. He would go in a second but I actually think he isn't what they need so if he does I am not too worried!

As wank as United are, they're better than Milan at the moment.
De Jong would shore up their midfield a bit, but wouldn't be a difference maker.
