De Jong to rags?

I'd like to think not.

I'd still have him here, but as a squad player, I don't see what Garcia offers that De Jong doesn't? I think he'd add a fair bit to United, they aren't showing any cinfidence at the back, and I think someone to break the play up in front of the defense would help them.

That's not from a "De Jong fan boy" point of view, just my opinion. Yes I understand he apparently left for first team football, which is understandable.

If he plays the holding role, for example Toure De Jong Fernandinho, but that one likely result in sacrificing playing two upfront, which is working.

Apologies for posting what may be deemed shit by others, and probably one of my few football related posts on the forum.

about 70k per week off the wage bill?

think we are a different side now, and how ever i love nige i cant see how he would add anything to the new setup, but cant see him going to swamp tbh

Can see De Jong at the rags (he has a history of running down his contract etc. so he obviously looks to maximise his earnings over the short term (so a decent signing on fee will be attractive whoever is offering it) - can't say I blame him. The media no doubt will bill him as a world star who walked out on City but has jumped at the chance to work with wee Davie.

I think he would be a decent addition to the current addition to the current United squad, but if anything, this proves they have become a West Brom-level club.

Just to be certain, you're saying De Jong is at the playing level of West Brom?

If so it's impressive that he was in a title winning side just a few years back.

Don't think he'd want to go there, surely he at least wants some sort of European football? :)

Big Nige loves the club, I don't think he'd ever go the the rags. He was a lot like Zaba and really got into what it meant to be at City and relished the Derby Day clashes. Besides didn't he say playing for AC Milan was his boyhood dream when he moved there?

Aye he started 11 matches out of 38 that season plus another 10 substitute appearances.

He was a bit part player for City as soon as Ya Ya Toure signed.
