Would absolutely brake my heart to see Nige pull on that red filth, he's a blue!

This.

Please god don't let there be any truth in this ffs

Would be a serious backward step in his career

The manner in which he left us suggests that money is his main motivation.

If the rags come knocking - which would surprise me - and the package is right for all parties, why wouldn't he sign ?

I certainly wouldn't have any concerns that he'd move them to another level on the pitch. He did a good job for us and we'll always recognise that but we've both moved on.

If they are interested in him, let's at least swoop in and get him so he doesn't suffer that terrible fate!

From what i understand NDJ left because Bobby Manc wanted him out due to his influence in the dressing room.

NDJ did an excellent job for City...but lets be clear...NDJ has a track record of running down his contract in order to secure a bigger signing-on fee / wages for himself.
Don't really have an issue with this
But lets not present him as some true blue saintly figure, who bleeds blue...he is an above average (7.5/10) defensive midfield player who did a job and as a City fan I appreciate his efforts...but we were just a contract for him and then he moved on.

I agree and we've moved from him onto Garcia who as a defensive midfielder can't be rated more than 2.5/10 out of the scale you have set imo!!

He's a blue. He once came back to Manchester to watch one of our games.

I think he just wanted to join AC Milan, a club he was a fan of since childhood.

Nailed on
He did not want to move and was attempting to renegotiate the contract for 18 months before leaving.
Inside information stops there but maybe Mancini or the powers that be had other reasons not to re new the contract.
Cannot see him signing for them though, he loves our club and understands the politics, would not damage us.

If memory serves he was offered several contracts but he wanted six figures. Too much for someone who wasn't in the first XI.

Besides that, it's obvious why given his interests outside of football he fancied Milan as well. Move made sense for all concerned. He's probably earning there what he got offered here plus a nice big signing on fee and a guaranteed start every week.
