De Jong VS Yaya Toure

I will say, I want to retract almost everything I said earlier. I have always been a Nigel supporter since he has gotten here but thought we could have gone bigger and better, however, after seeing Nigel against Chelsea, I became a true believer. He is someone I will take on my squad any day.
 
Yaya toure is a quality signing and both would be amazing for us, but if i had to choose Nigel De Jong. He has really impressed me this season and is up to the pace of the english game. Animal quality player.
 
there's no reason that the 2 couldn't play together. people pigeon hole players like yaya, diarra and de jong as "makelele" type players, but out of those 3 de jong is the closest to makelele. he's a very deep lying ball winner, who tackles hard and plays a simple passing game. the likes of yaya and lassana diarra are more advanced playmaking central midfielders who have the ability to tackle very well. the 2 types of styles could co-exist very well in the same team
 
Disagreed, you couldnt play both De Jong and Yaya Toure in a 4 man midfield. Both Diarra and Toure are slighy, and only slightly, more forward thinking than De Jong but they both fall wellllllllllllllll short of being labelled playmaking advanced central midfielders. Defensive midfielders such as Carrick and Alonso may be called defensive playmakers, but Toure and Diarra come nowhere near. + De Jong is better than both Toure and Diarra, who are both overrated.
 
Yeah i agree that De Jong is a wonderful player, but to say that "Toure and Diarra, who are both overrated." is complete rubbish.
