I thought he was rubbish to be honest along with most of his performance towards the end of last season. Hence why he couldnt get in the side.

Hes made it pretty clear since the day he signed he would not sign a new deal unless we paid him mental money - much like he did at Hamburg.

Cant see him being at city when the transfer window closes to be honest. It looks like he wants a move.

This is true. But we already have Barry and Milner who are better players, on longer contracts for far less money.

Hes not even shown any decent form for over a season. So why are we going to bend over and pay him £130k a week on a long deal - over double what anyone else would want to pay him in our position.

You play Gaz Baz in front of a back 3 and watch how badly exposed he will get. De Jong can do it no problem because hes much quicker an more agile. Ok so he can't play Hollywood passes, but he rarely gives the ball away. Should De Jong be given parity with the likes of Barry and Milner? Undoubtedly. There's no way inter will offer more than we have though so we shouldn't be held to ransom.

As much as I love de Jong (and I do--I'm wearing him on the back of my shirt as I write this) Lass Diarra is Nigel with much better ball control and passing range. I watch both the Premier League and La Liga on a weekly basis in season (I am City and football fanatic so I watch every single City match and as many other matches as life will allow) and can say Lass would actually improve us quite a bit. Not saying we are even remotely interested in him, just arguing a point.

No, I would see him stay here for a salary that helps us with breaking even. But if he's demanding 100k, it just doesn't make sense in this market.
