this is exactly why everything points to playing 4-3-3 (4-1-2-3 if you want to be technical) imo, having barry and ireland playing ahead of de jong, giving both of them freedom to push on, barry a little less so he can cover for stevie after a long run or pick up a rebound.

de Jong allows Ireland that freedom to venture forward, shackles off, whereas Barry goes forward, Ireland has to limit his impact because of more responsibility in the mid.

Loads of Clowns of here think that it's de Jong that should make way!!

The best thing with De Jong playing apart from him being an excellent player is that he allows Ireland the freedom to get forward without having to worry about getting back and helping out defensively which he has to do when it's just him and Barry in the middle

The way he took out babel and gerrard at the same time waqs fucking awesome!

I think this guy is brilliant, has become my favourite player and is a must for games against the likes of liverpool, chelsea etc.

improving every game, i think this guy is one of the best DM in the world.

Am I right in thinking that he played a blinder at anfield last year too.............or did I dream it ??
