I think that the way the club has budgeted for complying with FFPR is to sign players for a certain amount and salary, and getting rid of deadwood etc..What they probably haven't anticipated is the current squad asking for more money in their re-newed contracts. This increase could mean the difference in signing an Aguero/Silva type player or not.

But football isn't the real world. It's in it's own world, has been for a while. Don't like it, get out. Simple as that.
Nige is more than entitled to want parity with his team-mates, especially as he's one of the highest performers in the whole team. The fact that it's "out of this world" money for you and me doesn't mean he's any less entitled to earn more, if it's what his team-mates are earning.
But football isn't the real world. It's in it's own world, has been for a while. Don't like it, get out. Simple as that.

Replace NDJ? What a load of bollocks, he's defo one of the best DM's in Europe and has overtaken Essien as the best in this country. £120k a week is fair considering what some of his team mates are on.
If he's only on 60k a week, the same as SWP and Jo (when he was here) and he see's the likes of Aguero, Tevez and Yaya all on more than 200k a week, Adebayor on 175k a week and even Gaz Baz on 100k a week, it is not greedy to want more.
He is just a paid employee in a workplace, we all want the best deal we can get. If I were De Jong and I looked at Mario on whatever he's on, (i'm guessing it will be a 6 figure a week packet), I would want more than £60k too.
To me De Jong is a 'give him what he wants' player. More than worth it.
