Garcia is a squad player, Rodwell is for the future - Barry wouldn't get a game if we got De Rossi, Daniele is twice the player!

Rodwell I can see being a squad asset for two more years, and by then he ought to be good enough to be a starter.

But Garcia is not a squad player, faaaaar to good for that. He's had an all but optimal start to his City career, but I think pretty soon his will be on among the first names on the team sheet. He really is a very good player.

Garcia is no where near as good as De Rossi though mate.

I think Roma wil take 20-25n for him, there is just no way any club will pay more, that is his value.

De Rossi - Yaya partnership in my opinion would be the best midfield partnership in Europe after Busquets and Xavi, and I honestly believe he could revolutionise the team!

How long do you think a combination of two 30 year old players in the crucial midfield will last as an effective force? Can they fit into a Barca style passing game?

He has a light injury so he didn't play yesterday. Nothing more. Plus don't think Zeman will be there for a long time.

Have you not read today's quotes from Roma's director?

He is looking to flog him by the sign of it; he is willing to listen to offers.

Even a Roma shareholder quoted his frustration last week regarding the 'financial suicide' of not selling De Rossi in the Summer.

He only said they'll always listen to offers. Nothing more. Look, they just can't sell him. He has to say "I wanna leave". We offered 33M last summer and they were so scared to force him to move so said no. I'm sure he'll stay.

The manager will be sacked before this lad goes. A proud player of a team in one of the Worlds best cities on good money with his child close by. No deal.

As much as I'd love him to come here and anchor our midfield we have Garcia now to do his job and for likely required fee I'd sooner spend it on Benat or Moutinho. Would be cheaper and prudent given age and quality of both players. The money saved alone in wages would be huge too. I'm sure both would command half what DDR's agent would request.

Wouldn't say no but anuthing over £20million is too much. I'd also want the club to ask him to lower wage demands to move here.

Bored of the story anyway, move or don't move. Will show no interest in this deal as he should have come here 12months back.

I take it you're basing that on the numerous times you have seen him play prior to us signing him?

Well... yes, but not that many times, but enough to form an opinion.
That combined with what I have heard others say about him, fans, managers, players and so on.
Something wrong with that?

So in reality, you've 'heard' he's a very good player.

So far, from the little i've seen, and it is too early to make a full assesment,he looks awkward, slow and unimaginative - certainly not a player capable of propelling us to the 'next level',i hope this isn't the case long term.

Are we talking about De Jong?

Yes, - heard and seen. All though I'd be the first to admit I am no authority on judging players potential and quality, just a football lover who spends way too much money and time on following the best game in the world.

I think he'll come good. How many minutes has he played for us until now? Not enough to find his way and rhythm that's for sure.
Keep the faith! - He's a Spanish national for heaven's sake! :)

No,Garcia, although his game is similar to Niges, with the benefit of an aerial threat,he certainly isn't as 'solid'.
