Sounds about right, £170,000/week which is just below our highest earners. He makes an absolute mint at Roma right now so would be coming in on big money if he signed.

This is actually encouraging because he sounds angry, a guy whose passions are running so high that he refuses to believe that De Rossi could leave... ala Arsenal fans with van Persie before recently.

It means we are doing all we can to persuade DDR to sign for us. Roma can't really afford to keep him on the new deal they signed him on, but they could not afford to piss off their fanbase as well. Thiago Silva is the comparison I am using for this type of transfer.
 
I don't like it when anyone is so assuredly opposed to our plans. If we can't get DDR we're rapidly running out of quality midfielders to go after.
