So is the announcer just a fan? That translation gives me hope, it makes it sound like the club isn't saying he's staying exactly.

The club still tells him information in what to leak to the fans. The Roma fans are insane but not stupid.

If the club were telling him that, they would just come out and say it themselves. If they weren't selling they would have refuted this a week ago. Seems more like a guilt trip towards DDR by the fans.

We can spread out the money we were going to use on a big name signing on a couple more additions. Shame he would been a great player, but a player that is blinded by loyality.

realistically who can we get in 12 days that will improve our first 11?

Martinez, Hulk & Sinclair..for a bit on the left
If de Rossi does bottle it just pay te buy out clause for Martinez!!

TBH it is nice to hear of someone who wants to play for the club he loves - imagine as a City fan and being good enough to make it as a player but having to play for some other fucking team, I couldnt fucking do that, so if DDR stays at Roma for that reason, and to be closer to his kids, then good fucking luck to him

We did something similar to Kinkladze but that did not do us any good.

If all the rumours are to be believed on here with added speculation, DDR has said he will leave it to the club to make the decision. He doesn't want publically to say yes because he would lose his loyalty bonus and it would put him in a bad light with the fans. By shifting the decision to the club, if they say he has to go because of the money we are offering I suspect he will join, but the fury of the fans won't be against him but the owner of Roma.

Exactly the same as when we tried for Kaka he left the pitch in tears throwing his shirt into the crowd, the owner of AC then bottled it and turned down the 100m only to sell him to RM the following year for half the amount.

The only difference this time from last the owner is American and americans don't do sentimentality they do hard cash. Crosses Rome off the list of places to wear a city shirt,

If Roma 'need' the money, then De Rossi will leave.

Shows as much loyalty as staying imo.

Is Alonso even transferable? I was surprised to hear people suddenly start mentioning him this summer.

You can sure he'd come here before he went to United though, if he was to leave at all.

Only because they need cash and he has one year left on his contract. It is a long shot but worth it in my view. We did sign Robinho in quick time so they are easy to deal with if necessary.

Yeah hopefully rammy! After tHe week of positive stuff I find it hard to believe it could be over this quick? Roma and de Rossi could have put it to bed when something first emerged!

I feel like im the only City fan who feels this a tansfer we desreve to take stick for if we pay anything like the figures being quoted...

the lowest ive heard was £30million, for a 29 year old ? plus he already earns £180k wages at Roma, he isnt comming for less than £200k ...

I cant be the only person who thinks those figures are stupid...

It was, can't get back on now. De Rossi was playing. Big crowd. :(

They could have killed it dead with a club statement saying Not for sale, DDR could have come out and said not going anywhere. That would have been the end of it. It is the only positive bit that I am clinging onto, because the club have wanted to see what greenbacks we would offer.

So we are now at the depressing stage of this possible transfer..oh well, nowt new there then.
