*Bump*

Just seen this on Gazzetta:

9:45 - Case De Rossi. We will not laugh if Rome were to give in to the lure of Manchester City. There is no secret: since the bond between Daniele De Rossi and the new leadership to be sluggish (so much so that the renewal "for life" is no longer a priority), the club of Roberto Mancini - in addition to Chelsea - is ready to offer that could break 30 million. Trigoria raise the topic of a wall, but it is no coincidence that the track back into the limelight Sandro (Tottenham), a real bullet ds Sabatini, even if considered by the London club not for sale.

Didn't even think we were interested in him.

I could see this being a "Vieira replacement", he seems to be outside of the age group we are targeting as he's 28 soon.

Not sure how it stacks up with Milner, Barry, Yaya, NDJ though, unless BM is going to leave Yaya as an AM instead of dropping him back to DM as most seem to be assuming.

Class player, 63 caps for Italy and member of their world cup winning side in 2006.

he is fucking class, but i can't see it. id be surprised if he ever left roma

Talksh*te:

Manchester City are locked in a battle with Chelsea to clinch the signing of Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

De Rossi, 27, is set to leave the Italian club during the summer as he has just one year left on his current deal and has become unsettled at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Italian international is still regarded one of the best midfielders in Europe and would relish the chance to play in the Premier League.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for De Rossi and see him as the ideal replacement for Michael Essien, who is expected to be out for six months with a knee injury.

But reports in Italy suggest that Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is also planning a move for the talented midfielder and could blow Chelsea out of the water with a £25m bid.

City are hoping that a deal can be finalised in the next few days and De Rossi can become their third major signing of the summer.
