Yeh I know what you mean, but at 1.84m he is 1 1/2 inches taller than Micah Richards (1.80m, 5 ft 11 in).

I don't think it would from my reckoning we can get two more players into the squad without having to sell anyone, I just think if we went for him it would mean we needn't worry about trying to sign Martinez especially if Barca are sniffing. IMO again it would strengthen our hand in any contract negotiation he has a year left and it appear we have made an offer but he wants more. If we have made an offer to him in principle it looks we want him in the squad. I beleive Mancini will only sign playerswith exception maybe of strikers and goalkeeper who can fulfil more than one role. If you look at Martinez and Garcia I believe they can act in more than the central midfield role. For example if Mancini wanted to rotate players in defence he could opt

De Rossi looks a fantastic player and can play CB and CM which is great for squad cover. He is 28 tho and 30-35 mill is too much, although given his adaptability you may be looking at another 3-4 years at CM and when he slows a little could drop him into CB so he may have another 5-6 years in him!!!!

Wouldn't think we should pay over 25mill for him!!
 
I am just speculating here but has De Rossi's new contract got a release clause written in it?
 
Would be an unbelievable signing if it happens, would give another dimension to our midfield. We could also play him like Italy have in a 3 at the back formation, which we tried a few times last year. Would be perfect for City in many ways.

There were a lot of stories written when he signed the new deal that he had a release clause in it so he could be sold cheaper if Roma didnt qualify for CL this year. Last winter we could have gotten him for may 5-10 million. If the story about the clause is true then he should be around 15-20million this summer.

It could be worth looking into. AS Roma's season went tits up, and there is no guarantee that Zeman could improve their situation.
 
Why do City have to pay Roma now + 15 Million when they could have him for free just few months ago !

i would guess that it would mean the start of the end for Barry, who only has another season in him i reckon

More the case of him staying loyal at the time and not leave for nothing. He is ambitious though and last season must of got him thinking.
