I had exactly the same thoughts and emotions when I saw McCartney play at the IoW festival a few years ago. Enjoyed seeing someone who changed the world culturally with the Beatles.I went to see them at the Apollo, 30 years or so ago. They were excellent. What I remember most though is seeing some guy with long grey hair on the stage and I'm like 'Where's he come from? He wasn't there before, was he?'
He played a few songs with them, then as he was leaving the stage, the band gave their thanks to George Harrison. Bloody hell. I'd seen a Beatle playing live. For someone my age, now in my 60's who grew up with and witnessed first hand the affect those four mop topped lads had on the world, that was something special.
