How do you know he hasn’t matched. All what ifs, but we know he’s here til next summer noe
We should offer him the deal that is on the table and let him decide decent thing to do. Most recover close to fully from this injury these days and let us all hope that he will too.

Meh. This sucks. He will never be the same. His pace will be affected.
I also don t think that we will offer him a new contract too soon.

Stop scaremongering. You really don't know how he is going to be.

Wishing the lad a speedy recovery and hope to see him flying down the wing in the not too distant future.

Hope he bounces back, but it'd be poor business to not at least wait to see how the surgery goes to give him a new contract. You can bet your house the Bayern offer will vanish until then.

Hopefully he recovers , i didn't back in 88, finished my football and rugby days but surgery has moved on since then. Don't think it is as bad as mine was, but i'm surprised they didn't put him in a brace straight away. This will probably put a stop to his Bayern move ( if it was ever on the cards )

Sorry m8, no offence meant ... we’re all blues. you got to admit it was funny though the guy coming back with his degree on the wall comment.. you should have just owned it and has a laugh at yourself .. onwards and upwards and we are all wishing Leroy a speedy recovery..
On a side note , doffing my cap to yourself as someone who appears to have made his dreams come true and made a professional footballer.. hope you had fun playing and sorry if it was cut short by injury again no offence ..
Please...no offense taken! And, I went back and (think) took care of my overstep.

As for me, I had a short professional playing career as I had other, better paying opportunities to undertake. However, I enjoyed my time. I grew up with a pro Dad and saw every side of the business (and it has ALWAYS been a business!), from good to bad! Therefore, while I played with the same football passion as everyone else, I also saw that, for most, it was at best a labor of love that kicked you out in your early 30s (if you were lucky) and with almost nothing to fall back on...as I learned from my Dad’s experience and we’ve seen from more than one City “Star.”

My football (for fun by that time) actually ended around age 30, when I badly tore my right quad. Surgeons discussed the tear, the chances of playing competitively again, etc, etc... and I knew it was over. Since then, I have played about 15 mins of “competitive” football and made an arse of myself. Helped put any wistful musings to bed and I moved on.

When I was 16, I turned down a pro contract at Leeds to stay in school, do my A levels, and get a place at Uni, because I didn’t want to end up on the scrap heap the minute I got a bad injury, etc. That decision put me on a path that changed my life for the better.

Now, I have a good career and many happy memories of those “good old days,” whilst also being able to take good care of my family and put a few quid away for later.

So, it’s all good here. Hope you are, too, and absolutely no offense taken.

Be well.
