He is clearly part of the nucleus of young players that Pep sees as taking the Club further forward over the next 4-5 years. However, he is still not doing, positionally, what Pep wants him to do. The work needed out of possession as well as the the positioning is key to not conceding counter attacks and even those with the bluest tinted spectacles can see that Leroy doesn't always get it right. Of course he doesn't, he's a kid and Pep is trying to develop him. Add to the mix that Leroy is playing in a squad of world class players which is why Pep can afford to leave him out and coach his philosophy and knowledge into him. He did it with seasoned professionals at Barcelona, such as Thierry Henry, so he'll sure as hell do it with younger players. Leroy has the potential to be in the top 5 players in the world under Peps tutelage. He will stay and just watch him next season.
