What's all this crap about Mbappe?

Leroy has two years left on his deal and things became a little more complicated last summer as he was convinced he was going to the World Cup and his bargaining position would have then been strengthened.

His girlfriend, who isn't favoured by his folks, gave birth to his first child (not been with her long), he is a young man being pulled in various directions.

Time is of the essence, Bayern, Paris, Madrid, they are all in his ear.

If we do have a two-window ban deferred until January, then the club will possibly have to consider a summer sale, unless they feel Leroy can be talked round.

The mum seems to be the person driving the timeline and, as a former sportswoman, herself, will know the negotiating game well.

Leroy is my favourite player and I still hope this is all bluff and counter.

Worryingly, however, we are negotiating big on at least three different fronts for players, it would appear. Joao Felix, Bruno Fernandes and Rodrigo, which would set us back the best part of £220m (without a new left-back)

That would be an unprecedented spend or we are expecting to bring in big cash from elsewhere.

I just hope it's not our Leroy.

If Zinchenko signs up will we need a left back? Mendy is working himself back into contention.

The Danilo talk suggests we’ll need a right back.

Gundogan could well go and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Delph leave. There is also a potential Otamemdi departure.

Wan Bissaka would allow two departures- Danilo and Delph

Unfortunately it will probably be the case if we are in for Felix. As things stand, we cannot bring another forward to the fold without one leaving, as much as some people think it's feasible - we already have rotation players with itchy feet as it is, adding another to the mix would just be major overkill. Given the amount we'd bring in for Sane (I can see Bayern bidding at least £80m), we could probably work out a transfer with Felix where the difference in cost is negligible.

Honestly, if we sign Felix, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jesus go as well (assuming there is any truth to the reports he may be thinking of moving) - he would certainly bring in a fair chunk from somewhere. Felix can act as a left winger and CF to rotate with Aguero.

Fernandes makes sense if we sell Gundo. Doing so also always for more flexibility when it comes to Bernardo offering cover on the right hand side. We all know about our need for a DM in Rodrigo, so that doesn't come as a surprise.

There is the caveat that Sergio will need replacing in the next year or so. With a possible transfer ban, any top forward will need to be on our radar for this summer.

Especially so, if, as you say, Jesus was also to leave.

Don't see that myself.

City would be well within their rights to ask well over £100m for Sane, based on two years left and his commercial appeal as Germany's great hope.

We still have 60m from Jorginho plus I'd expect a few million from some of the fringe player.
Gundagon will fetch 25-30m if he doesn't sign a new contract.

A net spend between 100-150m should be unachievable.

Maybe so in terms of game time, but when Pep is playing Gundogan (who’s said he’s leaving in the business end of the title race) and saying Mahrez will be here next season and the season after, you’ve got to wonder why.

I’d be happy with Sterling and Bernardo on the wings, even though we’ll lose Sane’s raw pace on the counter. Will need yet another attacking midfielder though.

PHIL FODEN sends kind regards.

Only joking....take your points.
