I think people are overstating his inconsistency though, it's almost become cliche.
Let’s be honest he can be very inconsistent in a single match. Let’s the ball run under his foot and out one minute then beats 3 players and sets someone up the next. He has enormous potential yet to be realized but even so is still a phenomenal player. A couple more years and we’ll see constant performances like sterling or even better. Cant let this boy go.

He's not consistent. Quoting goal stats over a season doesn't disprove that. We've seen it in the past weeks.

Plays well when subbed on vs. Schalke, then is poor vs. West Ham and gets pulled 5 minutes after half time, dropped for Bournemouth, Great vs. Schalke.

If you think Sané is consistent I don't know what you've been watching. He is unstoppable at his best but we only see that every few games and that's why he's on the bench every other game while Bernardo and Sterling can be relied on to be a 7/8/9 every time they're picked.

He's in and out of the team at the moment because he is competing against Bernardo and Sterling who are both having exceptional seasons. It's not always easy when you are in and out of the team to hit the ground running every time. I know goals and assist don't really matter, but I think he has had a lot more good than bad games. Even the likes of Silver, Kun, De Bruyne can have a bad game I just know I would rather have Sane playing for us than against us.

He's been unfairly dropped or substituted at times this season but even still, his stats are amazing and so have been many of his performances. I'd offer him a 7 year contract if it was up to me.

He scored the winner against the dippers, that could be very important come the end of the season,he could also score many more winners in the future, we should try very much to keep him and improve him.Only let him go if his heart is not with City.

One story from one journo (may be true) isn't enough for me to believe there's a problem.

He'll probably be announced to have signed a new contract within a week or two, knowing how these stories have been timed in the past.

It is time to give Leroy Sane a 6yr contract till the end of the 24/25 season. With a buy out clause of £250,000,000. There should be 1 payment, all up front, before we will let him go to any other club. That should keep all clubs at bay.

Can't afford to lose Leroy, he has all the attributes to become the best player in the world.
Absolutely this.

He's phenomenal and will only get better. Lightening quick, agile, skilful, has footballing brain and composure in front of goal. The lad has everything and we must do everything to sign him. He could play for any club on the planet.

He’s gonna be probably the best player on the planet over the next 5 years - an absolute game changer. Just pay him and keep him.

It's what to pay him I guess, does he go for what Raz ended up getting, or what Bernardo just got?

Gets what Bernardo just got - perhaps a bit more with a promise of a new contract in 2 years time to take him to the next level. His salary has to have progression to take him to one of our highest earners as he develops.

Hope and think this will get sorted ASAP. Having got Bernardo, raz, Eric, Eddie, foden, gabby and kev all sorted then hopefully stones and sane follow quickly

For me it's a no brainer... the club should do everything within it's power to keep Leroy.

However, that said Trixxi should be going into these negotiations with ice running through his veins. MCFC as a going concern is in an extremely strong position. Out of all the other top flight English clubs we're probably the best placed to offer significant silverware.

Unless you're a complete mercenary that is going to be a huge bargaining factor. The other thing we've got going for us is Pep doesn't take any prisoners when it comes to players: "if you don't want to be here, there's the door" and "if you're not willing to fight for your position then you're not the right player for me".

Sanė is no fool he will be aware of this and he is definitely no mercenary.
