Unfortunately I received the news that he would miss most of this upcoming season , he will probably never be the same player again after this injury and be lucky to get more than 50 mill for him next year with also only having 1 year let next year
Very pessimistic view. A lot of athletes make full recoveries from ACL injuries. Granted, players that rely on heavily on pace are often the ones worst affected, but we aren't talking about Walcott here. Sane is also a genuine footballer and my money is on him being able to adjust his game to compensate if he does lose a little pace.

If/when an ACL injury is confirmed the only thing for sure is that there are no winners.
Regardless of agents/clubs/players tactics in getting a great deal/move the fact is it could all come tumbling down.
We as a club could still lose him for potentially much less money or we could end up with a player with potential career ending injury. The germans could buy him on the cheap but end up with a crock. The player himself could end up losing out on a big contract from the germans, an improved contract from us and a future thinking about what could have been.
I know I sound really negative but these injuries do cause major problems and not everyone recovers.
I really hope this isn`t the case and he recovers fully and returns to the fold.

Didn’t you know that people are fed up of experts? Can’t try to talk sense anywhere these days because you get shut down and called a fear-mongerer for knowing something
If what he had written sounded remotely “expert” I’d have been all ears!

Oh, and a “sports physiotherapy” degree is to a medical degree what holding out your arms and going “Wheeeee” is to an ATP.

There it is. Our new ITK hero

wrong and wrong.

club haven't confirmed the nature of the injury. if it's a full tear, like Mendy and Gundogan, then yes, it's minimum 6 months. until that is confirmed, let's not assume the worst.

Personally I think it's best to assume the worst; my expectation is he will miss the rest of the season and sadly will never be the same player again.

When athletes are playing at extreme performance levels, the wrong mentality can lead to injuries; this is true
He was in the wrong frame of mind and this may have lead to the injury as his body never reacted in the correct manner to the trauma.
I hope I'm wrong, but when you operate at the elite level and your main strength is acceleration and speed it's very difficult not to fear the worst for the remainder of his career; I suspect we may already have seen the best of him :(
ACL injuries are known for ruining /finishing the careers for explosive sportsman; clearly the treatment has improved greatly in the last few years but this is a huge blow for Leroy, Manchester City and all the fans who adored him.

I hope i'm completely wrong though; I hope he regains his physical attributes, goes on to become a City legend; alternatively I hope he doesn't blame the greed of his Agent (Mum) and this whole Bayern\ German fiasco for his demise from one of the worlds greatest talents to a player who will never fulfill his potential.

Was genuinely one of the most exciting players I have watched and hope we can recover fully, absolutely gutted about this

There must be no other club in the Premier League comes close to the number of serious long term injuries to key first team players that we suffer with.

Boom!
Love it.
So what do you think mate, full recovery within 6 months a likely outcome?
Hahaha!
“Boom” my arse! There is a reason medical school takes so long, and becoming a world class knee surgeon takes much, much longer!

So, yeah, why not.... give us the diagnosis and the outcome, so we can check the fixture list and pencil him in for his return!

Hahaha!

What next? “I’m not a doctor, but I played one on TV”

if so, then how on earth can you make this assertion:

“A complete rupture can be diagnosed immediately whereas with a tear or damage, it's a little more difficult to spot until it pops again.”

Given modern medical imaging techniques, this is nonsense. And, what is “until it pops again” and “double the damage,” anyway?

This kind of language is street language that is so imprecise as to be laughable.

I'm hardly gonna go into full detail am I? It's called simplifying it. And yes, you can detect a full rupture by doing a very basic test on the knee.

The fact he is having surgery would suggest the full 6-9 month recovery time but I wouldn't want to guess.
Much better.

This is exactly what anyone with some experience of seeing players get any kind of ACL injury would say.

Thanks for winding it in. I think that is a very fair comment. No disrespect meant to your degree.

Keep on digging mate. Your not having the best day are you ;-)

I'll say this, when he's doing his rehab and getting flown to the best specialists and doctors around and receiving all the support he needs it won't be on Bayern's dime or watch.

Let's see if that registers if/when a new contract is put in front of him this season.

You posted he's staying !!! that gave the impression he was signing a new deal not that he has a long term injury

It was more a condemnation of society as a whole rather than a direct dig aimed at you, and is more relevant in the UK than the States in any case. Was a slightly veiled remark intended for a certain audience.
