Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

Robinho could not carry Manchester City, and Leroy Sane is not ready to carry Bayern Munich. They are often compared to the Manchester United of Germany. At the moment that comparison is very apt indeed.

I would like Sane to stay at City because of what I know he is capable of. I think he would be far better off as a footballer staying at a club that is blessed with great players throughout their side.

Bayern Munich are at a different stage in their development. They are rebuilding a side that is over the hill. They have to start again. Is Sane ready?

I'm not sure he is but I am now sure Pep thinks he can't take his development any further

I reckon Pep attempted to further develop Sane and felt he had failed last season and knew all along Bayern were tapping him up (destabilising his progress) probably before the season even started. Pep had to keep saying he wanted him to stay as the asset is so valuable
He knew a Bayern offer was coming and yet had no replacement in mind...
Brilliant game play from Txiki and co
Only if Bayern Munich pay a fee which is acceptable.

I would still prefer to keep Leroy Sane, because of what he could be at Manchester City. He's part of a great squad and is at a perfect place to develop. Sadly his agent does not realise this.

Agree on Sane but I think Raz can get even better.
Hope so, if he and Bernardo still have improvement in them and KDB stays fit, we can step up yet another level. If Jesus, Foden and hopefully Sane can join them ,who know what our ceiling is.

I expect Sane to be more vocal with the City hierarchy about moving as the window is about to close if no deal has been struck

I think many elite players have a pretty big say nowadays.
Have a word with Gareth Bale. ;-)

And "a pretty big say" is very different from getting a club to accept tens of millions less than what the club feels you are worth. Which would surely have to be the case if we were to sell to the German rags.

The windows not shut yet and I thought it was Real trying to get rid

As explained by Pep saying to the media that he wants Sané to stay this season, next season and the season after. And to sign a new contract.

Of course, it's obvious now?!?!!

Maybe. I think that Pep would like to keep Sane and try but if the player wants to go, and Bayern are prepared to pay a fee North of £100m, it becomes a deal that is worth doing.

That is City's public position, and it makes sense. I don't think City are looking to engineer his sale at the maximum value to the club, but I am feeling good about the position we are in now. Win draw.
