Was a 'sensational' article by Castles in saying City and Bayern are in talks..Listening to his latest podcast,he was more rational and a balanced view..Things arent as bad as they seemed in his article

I have asked the same question many times about Barcelona and Real Madrid who seem to have access to unlimited amounts of money to buy players and the pay them inflated salaries (600k a week for Bale !) yet nobody at UEFA seems interested in where the money comes from.
It’s farcical. There’s never a media outcry, nothing. It’s just accepted “because it’s Barca”. And they’re allowed to spend money they don’t have. But we’re not allowed to spend money we do have.

Think it’s a huge huge blow if we lose Sane. other than Bernardo, Kdb and Ederson, he’s the next irreplaceable player in our team when you factor in age and potential.

we don’t have anybody else like him in the team, sterling beats a man a little differently and makes different runs behind, Leroy is pure power and pace and gets down the outside and behind so easily. even if he’s having a bad game, just his presence on the pitch opens up so much more space elsewhere.

I trust Pep and I’m sure we will bring in somebody very exciting as a replacement if he were to go but I’m also certain we will be watching performances from him in years to come wishing we still had him if he does leave.

I think the club will end up accepting an offer that we as fans deem to be below his true value. Purely because if we don’t sell him this summer, there’s a large chance he leaves on a free after Bayern get their claws into him. They are very good at getting top players on free transfers. So a reduced fee to avoid that happening will be seen as good business, especially as we’ll be making a large profit on him. Probably £80m-90m, and not the £100m-£130m that the fans would want.

Just listened to ‘The transfer window’ podcast with Castles on; said that no fee has been agreed. If City can’t convince him to stay then they’ll sell this summer.

Hopefully he’s just using it as a tool to get a better contract at City, really don’t fancy this guy leaving, he could be a world beater

Remember a season or two ago, everyone had Sane over Sterling in their starting line ups.

That has significantly changed.

What separates the good and the Elite footballers is mentality and I don’t think Leroy has it to be honest.

He’s a player I like a lot and obviously want him to stay but it wouldn’t be the end of the world if he left us for £100m.

Sane has world class potential but like many players I’m not sure he will ever reach it because of his mentality. He has even improved since he joined us? I mean we know his weaknesses. No right foot at all. Hence Pep never plays him on RW. Also for someone tall enough he can’t head the ball at all. Defensively he’s probably our weakest winger. These weaknesses haven’t been improved at all. While Sterling for example was poor at finishing and has improved ten fold.

Mahrez gets a lot of hate for being one dimensional but Leroy is much more one footed.

Sane is an exciting talent, killer shot on him and a great dribbler but if he doesn’t sign a new deal, the club need to put him on the market this summer, it’s strictly business. He’s not irreplaceable.

Thing is, if Mendez is as tight with the Club as he appears to be, surely it’s in his best interests to keep his trap shut. There is no way he would be leaking to the press, unless the Club wanted him to... it’s so Machiavellian.
